🎮 The Future of Gaming — Where Do We Go From Here?

Gaming has come a long way in a relatively short time. From 8-bit consoles and simple arcade games to massive open worlds, photorealistic graphics and online worlds that can support thousands of players, the question now is: what comes next?

With the PS5 still being a relatively modern console, some gamers are already looking towards the PS6. But is it too early to be talking about the next generation?

Have we already reached the limits of what the PS5 can do, or are developers simply not taking full advantage of the hardware yet? Games are becoming bigger and more technically demanding, but are better graphics and larger worlds really what the next generation needs?

Then there's AI, cloud gaming, VR, digital ownership and cross-platform gaming. Could the next generation of gaming look completely different from what we're used to? Perhaps the future isn't even about having a more powerful console under the TV.

So, what do you think?

Is the PS5 already showing its age? Is the PS6 coming too soon? Or are we entering a period where gaming technology needs to evolve rather than simply become more powerful?

💬 What do you think gaming will look like in 5–10 years?

It looks like there is a push for digital games, however I can see the price and limited storage being a barrier. Storage is a luxury, then that brings me to streaming. I have streamed the odd game from the PSN plus, it has been pretty poor to be honest, graphics blurring, latency issues. It has its pro's but not when attempting to play competitively.
