SITE UPDATE & WHAT'S TO COME
Well… here we are. Fresh start. Blank canvas. New beginnings. As you can see, we’re starting from the ground up, which gives us a great opportunity to decide what we actually want RIOTCORE to be — and, more importantly, what we want it to become.
This isn't our site in the sense of us disappearing into a dark room and deciding everything for you. This is a community, so your ideas, suggestions, feedback and completely ridiculous suggestions are all welcome.
If you've got an idea that you think would make RIOTCORE better, throw it at us!
Worst case scenario, we ignore it.
Best case scenario, we build it.
Hopefully coming soon, we'll be introducing a brand-new front-page article section. The idea is to give RIOTCORE a place to showcase gaming content, news, opinions, guides and whatever else the community gets up to.
But here's the important part:
This isn't just for RIOTCORE or the staff.
We want YOU to have the opportunity to get involved too.
Fancy writing a game review?
Want to make a gameplay guide?
Got an amazing tutorial?
Want to rant for 2,000 words about why your favourite game is secretly terrible?
We want it.
Whether you're an experienced content creator or you've never written anything more complicated than "GG EZ" after a match, there's going to be room for you.
We'll be looking at ways for members to submit their own content and potentially have it featured on the front page.
So dust off those keyboards.
We're also hoping to get a proper chat room installed on the site, along with something similar to an instant messenger system.Because let's be honest…
Sometimes you don't want to read an article.
Sometimes you don't want to play a game.
Sometimes you just want to sit in a chat room at 2am arguing about whether pineapple belongs on pizza.
That's where this comes in.
The aim is to give RIOTCOUCH gamers somewhere to hang out, meet new people, organise games, talk nonsense and generally get to know one another.
And yes, that includes the staff.
We promise we're mostly house-trained.
We'd love to introduce a points and trophy system for members. The more involved you are, the more opportunities you'll have to earn points, trophies and potentially unlock additional perks.
Points could be awarded for things such as:
And yes, we may even create some completely pointless trophies just because we can.
"Logged In Before Noon" — Legendary Achievement.
All still to be discussed....
We're also looking at the possibility of introducing VIP/member-only sections. These could potentially include exclusive content, special events, competitions, early access to certain features, private discussions and other community perks.
We're still figuring out exactly what this could look like, so your ideas are welcome.
If there's something you'd genuinely like to see behind a VIP/member area, let us know.
One of the bigger ideas we'd like to explore is a dedicated Clan & Gaming Group section. This could give clans, teams and groups somewhere to establish themselves on RIOTCORE.
Potentially you'll be able to:
Whether you've got a serious competitive team or a group of mates who spend six hours arguing about who should drive in GTA, we'd like there to be a place for you.
There are plenty of other ideas we'd like to explore as RIOTCORE develops.Leaderboards.
Competitions.
Community events.
Game nights.
Reviews.
Guides.
Giveaways.
Clan battles.
Member profiles.
Maybe even some completely stupid features that nobody asked for.
Why not?
The whole point of starting fresh is that we're not tied to what RIOTCORE used to be.
We can decide what it becomes together.
So if you've got an idea, suggestion, criticism, feature request or even something you think would make the site more fun…
LET US KNOW!
This is a fresh canvas.Let's see what we can build on it.
