PS5 JAILBREAK — HAS THE GAME CHANGED?

The PS5 jailbreak scene has just taken a pretty big step forward. The new Relapse exploit reportedly supports PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles running firmware 7.00 through 13.60, opening the door to things like homebrew, mods, Linux and other unofficial software. Some evidence of more up to date FW's impacted too.

But there's an interesting catch...

Sony's newer firmware releases aren't supported, and newer games are already starting to create a difficult choice for anyone keeping an exploitable console.
Do you stay on an older firmware and keep the jailbreak — or update and keep access to the latest games and PlayStation features?

And then there's the bigger question:
🤔 What do you actually want from a jailbroken PS5?

Is it:

🔹 Homebrew
🔹 Emulation
🔹 Mods
🔹 Linux
🔹 Preservation
🔹 Running your own software
🔹 Getting more out of the hardware
🔹 Or simply seeing what the PS5 is capable of when Sony's restrictions are removed?

There's obviously a huge difference between console modding/homebrew and piracy, so let's keep the discussion focused on the technology and what it could mean for the PS5 community.

Would you jailbreak your PS5 if you had a compatible firmware? And if you've already done it — what's the first thing you want to see running on it?
