Mob of the Dead — Pop Goes the Weasel
This is arguably the most interesting BO2 Easter Egg because it has a major story twist.
Unlike Tranzit/Die Rise/Buried, Mob doesn't have a conventional Maxis/Richtofen split.
You play as:
- Billy Handsome
- Finn O'Leary
- Salvatore DeLuca
- Albert "Weasel" Arlington
Step 1 — Build the Plane
You need five parts.
Find:
- Engine
- Cockpit
- Rigging
- Tank
- Rotor
The parts are scattered around Alcatraz.
Build the plane at the roof.
Step 2 — Fly to the Golden Gate Bridge
Once the plane is complete:
- Board it.
- Fly to the Golden Gate Bridge.
- You arrive in the Afterlife/Purgatory area.
Step 3 — Get the Hell's Retriever
Feed the three Cerberus heads.
You need to feed them zombies until they finish eating.
The three dogs are located around the prison.
Once all three are satisfied:
Hell's Retriever unlocked.Step 4 — Get the Hell's Redeemer
This is the upgraded version.
- Throw the Hell's Retriever into the lava/fire area.
- Go to the Afterlife.
- Perform the required sequence.
- Return to the Retriever location.
- Pick up the Hell's Redeemer.
Step 5 — Build the Zombie Shield
Find:
- Car door
- Dolly
- Other components
Build the Zombie Shield.
It's extremely useful for the later steps.
Step 6 — Build the Acid Gat
You'll need the three parts:
- Acid Gat parts
- Weapon component
- Workbench
Build the Acid Gat.
Step 7 — Upgrade to the Vitriolic Withering
Pack-a-Punch the Acid Gat.You'll get:
Vitriolic Withering
This is useful for the Easter Egg and survival.
Step 8 — Complete the plane sequence
Fly to the bridge again.
This time, the objective is to complete the sequence associated with the four characters.
You'll see the story progressing through the bridge/Afterlife sections.
Step 9 — The Warden's Key
Use the Warden's Key to access the relevant areas.
The Key is central to several Mob steps.
Step 10 — Break the cycle
The Easter Egg eventually reveals that the four prisoners are trapped in a repeating cycle.
The critical realization is:
Weasel is the key to breaking it.
Step 11 — Final confrontation
This is the famous ending.
The four characters enter the final confrontation.
Depending on who wins:
If Weasel wins
The cycle is broken.
If the other three kill Weasel
The cycle continues.
The canonical outcome is:
Weasel kills the other three.
Pop Goes the Weasel complete.This is one of the most important story moments in the entire Aether storyline.
